The Miss West Africa (MWA) is a vibrant beauty pageant that explores the beauty, talent and contributions of West Africans all over the world.
The Miss West Africa pageant, which happens to be the biggest and the most popular international African pageant, was founded in the UK by Nana Tamakloe with the aim of promoting a positive image for West African countries by creating awareness of social , cultural, health, wealth and beauty issues within West Africa.
The pageant does not restrict itself to the mass media’s portrayal of beauty but showcases a variety of beauty and talents of West Africa women from around the world and there from bring you one lady who possesses not only natural beauty, poise, great talent, and a charitable heart but also the intellect to represent West Africans worldwide.
With a highly credited team of organizers the Miss West Africa 2008 and 2009 which held in the UK and was won by Amina Kamara and Shireen Benjamin respectively was adjudged the most popular and most professionally organized African pageant. .
In 2010 the concept of Miss West Africa international was introduced with a view of discovering various regional Miss West Africa queens such as Miss West Africa UK, Miss West Africa USA, Miss West Africa Canada, to compete for the ultimate Miss West Africa title, Miss West Africa International. Miss West Africa International is now a worldwide beauty pageant accessible only to Miss West Africa regional winners, in view of the above and now for the first time the Miss West Africa pageant will be held in Africa, and Nigeria was favoured to be the host country where the Ultimate title of the Miss West Africa International is billed to hold in December, 2011.
